Hindsight

Okay, I admit it - I made a mistake. In retrospect I can now see how registering this blogspot address was a lot like throwing a live hand grenade into a toilet immediately before using it. I've got enough stuff to keep me occupied without that kind of messy drama.

So, if you came to this blog looking for Geoff Hudson's page supposedly documenting how biblical scholars write under assumed names, here is the link:

http://aliasesofjeffreygibson.blogspot.com/

I'll also say that I believe Geoff is in error. It is my opinion that his animosity toward theism, particularly Christian theism, has fuelled a desire to attack ad hominem by making unsubstantiated accusations founded on a policy of "guilty until proven innocent." I base that conclusion on personal experience with both Geoff (who once suspected me of being a pseudonym for someone else) and my experience within Christian academia.

Therefor, I leave it to the reader to decide. I have zero desire to spend any more time on this topic, so I encourage you, the reader, to visit Geoff's page and make that determination for yourself.

Regards,
Pete Freckelton

My own mental state is of no concern to me. I believe a sound body and a healthy mind go together, Pete.

I am very concerned about the mental state of Jeffrey B Gibson and those of his list supporters such as Jim West - the pastor who writes special material for those down there in the pews.

I am very concerned about Gibson writing academic books under pseudonyms.

I am even more concerned about the publishers and booksellers who produce and sell these books such as T & T Clark and Eisenbrauns. And where is all the ten-penny crap coming from Pete? Is this an American racket? Who owns the publishers and booksellers? Who is profiteering? You only have to consider the recent commercial exploitation of the Talpiot tomb to realise what much of American so-called scholarship is about. Ask Joe Zias.

Sick body, sick mind, sick ninja. There are few straight folk left in North America..

I'm not sure how my Christian Ninja account is "secret" or deceptive in any way. It was supposed to just be silly and go along with the ridiculous videos/flash animations I put up on that site. I guess if you wanted to make it part of the conspiracy, I can't really stop you - so fill your boots.

I said sick not secretive. If you promote violence (and sex) you help to make America sick, as the recent events show it to be.

On my personal blog, you wrote "Pete’s little secret" with a link to the "Christian Ninja" account. Regardless, I'm not promoting violence or sex, and I don't know if you've noticed, but Canada was opposed to the invasion of a sovereign nation without justification - we're only there now as part of the commonwealth. I think you and I would find much agreement in a discussion on social ills, regardless of theological position.

You deleted an erotic video.

Your Ninja image is hardly peaceful:

"Secretive and silent, the ninja stalks through Japanese history like a shadow, striking fear into the hearts of peasants and emperors alike. Cool!"

"In feudal Japan, ninja or shinobi (literally, “one who is concealed,” or “one that endures”) were assassins and agents of espionage. Ninjas even have their own Wiki page. Awesome!"

One Ninja student assassinated 32 yesterday.

Ask Craig Evans why he has any truck with Jeffrey B. Gibson.

I do the same to anyone who spams my blog. You posted a comment that had nothing to do with the original blog post - just a link-advert for one of your sites. I see no reason to give you free reign on my personal blog given that behaviour. I wouldn't welcome an abusive door-to-door salesman in my personal home either, but that has nothing to do with fear.

I have no idea how Dr. Craig knows Dr. Gibson, nor do I particularly care. Have a great one, Geoff.

I am pleased to note that you do not deny deleting an erotic video from this weblog, and that you do not deny the violent ninja imagery you portray.

If you say you attend Acadia Divinity College, and you know Dr Ken (Konstantin) Penner, then you should be concerned that the evangelical Dr Craig Evans has dealings with Dr Jeffrey Baldwin Gibson as portrayed here http://aliasesofjeffreygibson.blogspot.com/

So, just (Mr) Pete so-called Freckelton of: 'what kind of a name is "Frekelton" anyway? you sound like 'George F Somsel' writing here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ANE-2/message/3755 - GRMYKN
(GRM + YKN = "grinding he will establish") what kind of a Jewish name is that? Obviously it was Jeffrey B Gibson writing to prove that he was not Russell Gmirkin - only he betrays his dislexia or tiredness.

I feel no need to deny random, groundless accusations, which is also why I'm not at all concerned about who my professors consider colleagues. This is YOUR axe to grind, and it has more to do with your stance on theism than it does on any academic concerns.

What I'd really like to see is a website or blog by you dedicated to your arguments against theism, or promoting rationalism (or free-thought or humanism or whatever your particular stance may be). You're obviously an intelligent man, and I think you could offer some really interesting insights above and beyond any ad hominem offered against individuals like Jeff Gibson.
